The Didsbury Players are a very friendly amateur dramatic society based in Didsbury, South Manchester.  We meet every Tuesday night from 8pm till 10pm in the clubhouse of the Didsbury Cricket Club, close to the East Didsbury railway and tram stations, Fletcher Moss Gardens and The Didsbury pub.

We always welcome new members for both back stage and performing roles.  We put on 3 or 4 performances a year ranging from epic musicals to small dramas. So if you think you might have the drama bug, or are interested in catching it, please drop us a line or come along to one of our Tuesday meetings. The next show you can audition for will be 1984.

1984 by George Orwell, adapted by Matthew Dunster
on 6th & 7th October 2017 at 8.00pm
at East Didsbury Methodist Church

The Didsbury Players are proud to present 1984, Orwell's well known dystopian story.
This adaptation, by Matthew Dunster, was originally performed in the Manchester Royal Exchange in March of 2010.

Our aim is to create an immersive atmosphere so our audience can explore its themes of omnipresent government surveillance,
public manipulation and perpetual war, which are as relevant today as they were when it was written.

Doors 7.30pm for 8pm start.

Not recommended for under 14s due to strong language, mature themes and violent content.
